This year’s Mold Food & Drink Festival is just around the corner!  The area’s biggest foodie extravaganza takes place on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st September 10am-5pm in New Street Car Park, close to the town centre, and looks set to be the biggest and best yet.

As an ever growing showcase for quality food and drink, over 120 exhibitors from the local area and beyond will provide a wide variety of the finest produce to try and buy.  Celyn Farmers’ Market will be attending again this year with a tempting array of fantastic local food.

Locally produced honey will be available from the Flint & District Beekeepers Association and a display of live bees in observation hives will provide a fascinating attraction for adults and children alike.  Sharing the beekeepers’ marquee will be the WI who are taking up the honey theme for the ‘Best of Welsh Bake-Off Competition’ which this year is searching for the best homemade ‘Welsh’ Honey Cake.  A recipe for this delicious cake is provided on the entry form which is available to download at http://www.moldfoodfestival.co.uk/competitions.  You can enter your Welsh honey cake up to 4pm on Saturday 20th September.  Simply bring it along to the Festival with your entry form and it will be passed on to the WI.

The cookery theatre will host celebrity chef demonstrations from Festival favourite Graham Tinsley on Saturday, joined by celebrity chef Marcus Bean who regularly appears on ITV’s Good Morning show and runs a cookery school in Shropshire.  On Sunday top Welsh celebrity chef and restaurateur Bryn Williams will take centre stage for three exciting demonstrations – definitely not to be missed!  There’s plenty more cooking action too with professional chefs from restaurants across the area showing off their culinary skills over the two days and providing a glimpse of the fine cuisine on offer locally.

If that’s not enough, there’s a whole host of children’s entertainment and family-friendly interactive foodie workshops too.  New this year will be the amazing cooking bus with dedicated staff and facilities – a wonderful environment for a variety of cookery sessions to suit children of all ages.  Also, there will be a new programme of hands-on food and craft sessions running all weekend in the Interactive Zone.

The outdoor foodcourt area will provide plenty of delicious food and drink to satisfy the appetite and the Festival will play host to a great line up of live bands and musicians performing on the stage.  A fabulous, foodie weekend for all the family and great value too!

A convenient, FREE Park & Ride service will operate on both days from County Hall/Clwyd Theatr Cymru to Mold town centre.
